Patrolling robot developed just outside Moscow

SMP-Robotics, a Zelenograd-based company just outside Moscow, has recently announced the development of special patrolling robots. The new system, designated Trawl Patrol, is designed to guard areas and locate moving objects there. The firm has also begun production of the Trawl Patrol. The robot can move along a pre-programmed itinerary (possibly more than one) and survey the territory for unauthorized visitors using a set of high-resolution cameras mounted on its body. As soon as an object is pinpointed, the robot can shift to tracking (convoy) mode and immediately send an alarm to the central guarding post. If two or more such robots are deployed to watch over the area, they can exchange alarm information, causing other robots that follow the same moving pattern to join the tracking.
