A sizable science and technology cluster called ?Vorobyevy Gory? will open on the premises of Moscow Lomonosov State University to develop ?fundamental science, its experimental applications and, of course, education?
A sizable science and technology cluster called ?Vorobyevy Gory? will open on the premises of Moscow Lomonosov State University. The project was endorsed this past Tuesday at a meeting of MSU?s Board of Trustees presided over by President Vladimir Putin of Russia, the Nanotechnology Society of Russia website reported. ?For the first time in Russia, we as a university are undertaking to establish a cluster to develop fundamental science, its experimental applications and, of course, education,? MSU rector Viktor Sadovnichiy said at the meeting. At the Vorobyevy Gory cluster, named after the historical city district where the university is located, students and young scientists may expect to be able to develop projects aimed at space study, the application of bio- and nanotechnologies, robotics, etc. The project initiators emphasized that nobody was pursuing a goal of setting up an alternative to the Skolkovo innovation center which is being developed outside the Russian capital...
