In March, FlexyMind, a St. Petersburg-based start-up and an ?alumnus? of the local Ingria business incubator, raised a yet-undisclosed investment in its second round of funding from RWM Capital, a Russian fund management firm, for further development of its educational gaming apps for mobile devices, a spokesman for Ingria told Marchmont News earlier this week. Near-term plans for the young company include an extension of its innovative line of educational apps for Android- and iOS-powered gadgets, distributed on a freemium basis. Back in 2012, just months after this team of three programmers came to join the Ingria business incubator, its first round of funding it raised from Altair Capital Management, a Russian VC fund, helped FlexyMind create a series of educational apps for kids over two years old. At that moment, there was an almost complete lack of Android-based mobile apps to teach children, and in the Russian-language segment of the market competition was anemic. Today, FlexyMind?s Android-based apps have been downloaded more than 1.1 million times and, as the spokesman pointed out, ?the developers have had a lot of positive feedback from users...
