MTS starts accepting applications for The Telecom idea 2012 innovative contest

Accepting the applications for the annual Telecom Idea contest, organized by the MTS and the Russian Ministry of Communications in partnership with the project System Elevator to the future has begun on March 5, 2012. The competition is held among the youth innovation projects in the telecommunications industry. The winners will receive prizes, as well as the opportunity to present their innovative ideas to the administration of the MTS Group and venture capital investors. In addition, the best projects will be assisted in the implementation.

Examination and evaluation of projects submitted for the contest is performed by the Expert Council, consisting of scientists, sectoral experts and innovative community. The Institute of Innovation Management of Higher School of Economics organizes the project expertise, as for the educational programs for participants, they are organized by the Center for Commercialization of innovation.

The contest will be held from March to June 2012, receiving projects questionnaires will last up to April 5.

Adult citizens up to 35 are allowed to participate in the competition: students, young researchers, developers, entrepreneurs - both individually and collectively. Starting with this year the competition will be open not only to citizens of the Russian Federation, but also to CIS countries with the presence of MTS: Armenia, Byelorussia, the Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

Innovative projects related to the telecommunications industry in various stages of development, implementation and operation are welcome to participate in the Competition. The winners will be selected according to the following nominations:

Innovations in software products
Innovative technical solutions for communication systems
Innovation in services and content
Marketing and managerial innovations

In addition, under the Telecom Idea, the contest of video presentations and competition for the best startup-blog will be held. Participation in these events will allow young innovators to demonstrate their creative abilities, creativity and practice in the use of modern methods of positioning and promoting their projects.
