III Youth International Economic Forum in Moscow

III Youth International Economic Forum in MoscowSt. Petersburg hosted the III Youth International Economic Forum (YIEF) in June, 20. This year's Forum was attended by over 150 delegates from around the world.

Forum participants together with experts had been discussing the ideas of projects in key areas of Russian modernization throughout the day. The participants worked in 4 groups: Entrepreneurial Society, Leading education and leadership in science and education, Russia - the leader in logistics and transportation, Creation and promotion of city’s brand. Discussion in each of the thematic groups was supervised by internationally recognized experts in business, science, culture and sports.

Forum delegates appreciated Russia's potential in transportation and logistics, identified problems and suggested ideas to solve them, discussed long-term positive changes in education and learned how branding affects the competitiveness of the city.

One of the sections of YIEF, organized by the Skolkovo Fund jointly with OJSC RVC, was Entrepreneurial Society section. The moderators of the section were the advisor to the President of the Skolkovo Fund Pekka Viljakainen and the CEO and Chairman of the Board of OJSC RVC Igor Agamirzyan. According to the results of the section work, Forum participants have developed an action plan for building an entrepreneurial society in Russia, which was presented at the final plenary session of YIEF.

The theme of leadership brought the participants of the Youth Forum and the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum together this year. Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said in his address to the delegates: The leaders of the past often achieved success through resource reallocation. Present leaders achieve success creating values. The leaders of the future will emerge creating opportunities for others to move forward to create values and be successful.

Ideas offered by projects’ participants were estimated by the Minister of Communications of the Russian Federation Nikolai Nikiforov, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Igor Fedyukin, the Vice-President of Microsoft Daniel Lewin, the vice president of the Skolkovo Fund Alex Bel'tyukov, venture capital expert in Silicon Valley Artem Fokin, the head of the international business community Kairos Ankur Jain and other experts of the Forum.

Youth International Economic Forum was held with the support of the Skolkovo Fund, Total Group, Mikhail Prokhorov, and RVC.
