Rusnano to launch nine nanotech centers in 2013Rusnano plans to launch nine nanotechnology centers next year, created with the participation of state corporations. The centers will become the points of growth for small high-tech companies and will be opened in different regions of Russia, said the Chairman of Rusnano Anatoly Chubais.

We will launch nine nanotechnology centers next year. They are infrastructure centers intended to invite small innovative businesses to purchase modern equipment at reasonable and affordable prices to develop their technological groundwork to a well-organized business - Chubais said.

The first nanotechnology center to be launched in Kazan in November.

Previously, the fund of infrastructure and educational programs Rusnano defined a list of 12 nanotechnology centers to be established in Russia. Apart from Kazan, nanotechnology centers are being created in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Dubna, Zelenograd, Saransk, and Stavropol. In Siberia, the nanotechnology center will be located on two sites in Novosibirsk and Tomsk.

The main purpose of nanotechnology centers is the development of institutions for the commercialization of research results.
