Rusnano and partners to build a new plant in Ulyanovsk

An investment agreement was signed at the international forum Open Innovations to build a plant for the production of high-quality glass with nanocoating in Ulyanovsk region. The volume of investment in the new building will be about 6B RUR.

The new plant (a subsidiary of the Project Company SP Glass Holdings BV) will be built within a joint project of Rusnano, NSG company, represented in the Russian market under the brand Pilkington, STiS Group and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

One of the main products of the holding company SP Glass Holdings B. V., including acting glass plant in Ramenskoye and the new plant in Ulyanovsk, will be the energy-saving glass of different types. Its unique properties are achieved by a special coating, each layer of which is from 5 to 500 nanometers thick. The use of energy-saving glass with nanocoating in the residential and industrial areas will make it possible to reduce heat loss to 70% in cold weather, and such glass protects the building from overheating when it is hot outside.

The construction of the plant will begin in 2012 and end in 2015. The performance of the new plant will be 240 tons of high-quality glass per year.

The company will get a unique package of tax breaks and subsidies valid in Ulyanovsk region for special investment projects. – Dmitry Ryabov, the General Director of the Development Corporation of Ulyanovsk region said.
