The finalists of Web Ready-2012

The expert committee of Web Ready: Internet&Mobile-2012 named 40 finalists of the competition. The teams qualifying for the next stage of the competition, intend to raise $50M investment in their projects.

An educational program for 40 selected startups will last 2 weeks on the basis of Ingria business incubator and start on November, 5.

The semi-finalists will take part in the exhibition during the finals of Web Ready in St. Petersburg on the 30th of November. The jury will select 6 of the projects in each category for the final presentations.

The semifinalists represent 10 cities - London, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Perm, Novosibirsk, Russia, Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhniy Novgorod, Togliatti, Ufa.

Recall that there were 584 applications for the Web Ready this year, representing 90 cities and 13 countries worldwide. The contest was held in two main categories: Best Internet-startup (476 filings) and Best Mobile-startup (108 applications). The prize fund of the competition is 1.5M RUR. In addition, EMC Company has established its own nomination with a grant of $150K.

The finals of Web Ready will take place on November, 30 in St. Petersburg in the format of Investment Forum. At the forum, there will be the presentations of selected finalists in addition to the exhibition of Web Ready semifinalists’ projects, the speech of the Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Parallels, co-founder of Runa Capital fund Sergey Belousov. There also will be a VC Corner for investors and projects and a special mentoring area where start-ups can find mentors for their business.
