1.6M RUR stolen during Interra Forum in 2010Investigative Committee of Russia in Novosibirsk region opened a criminal investigation into the theft of budget funds during the preparation of International Youth Forum Interra-2010. According to the IC, some individuals involved in the organization of the forum took 1.6M RUR.

According to the investigation, state autonomous agency of Novosibirsk region Youth Initiatives Support Fund (YISP) signed contracts with legal entities and individuals from May to September, 2010 to provide services for the organizing and conducting of the regional stage of All-Russian Youth Innovation Convention in Siberian Federal District in the framework of Interra-2010.

Investigators believe that the director of YISP concluded fictitious contracts with the director of LLC NPO Alfatech to perform various tasks on the organization of the regional stage of the forum, which were actually performed by the aforementioned individuals and entities. The total amount of funds transferred to LLC NPO Alfatech is about 1.6M RUR, the IC says in its message.

UPDATE

The Governor of Novosibirsk region Vasily Yurchenko said that the suspected in the theft of budget funds during Interra-2010 Forum ex-head of Youth Initiatives Support Fund Alex Borisek was not included in the directorate of the forum and there is no sense to change the team of the event.
