A joint Russo-Chinese venture to focus on making LEDs from crystals has been announced for Tomsk in Siberia, Nanonewsnet.ru reports citing Dmitry Galkin, the director for sales of FizTech-Energo, the Tomsk partner in the new deal. Mr. Galkin did not disclose any terms of the agreement, nor did he announce the name of the Chinese partner in the JV. He only said that at the moment, FizTech-Energo only engages in assembling lighting fixtures from ready-made LEDs. The new production line will reportedly focus on the development and production of terminal leads, lenses and microchips for a crystal. The JV also expects to develop casings for LED lamps, lanterns and other lighting devices using LEDs.
