Former Groupon CEO to switch over to startups

Former Groupon CEO Andrew Mason announces in his blog that he is leaving New York, where Groupon’s office is located, and going to San Francisco where he plans to open a new company. Mason says he was very upset about leaving Groupon, and, according to him, the best way to go through it is to open a new company.

I have got a lot of ideas over the last few years. I expect to realize the most interesting ones this fall. Following this plan, my wife and I move to San Francisco this summer, - the former head of Groupon says. According to him, he is not going to sell his house in Chicago.

Recall that Groupon’s Board of Directors dismissed Mason in April of this year because the company showed poor financial results for several quarters.

I came to realize that there was a real need to present business wisdom in a format that is more accessible to the younger generation, - he writes in his blog.
