RVC supported technological Startups wiyhin the limits of the program Global

On July, 27 within the limits of entrepreneurial festival “Startup Picnic” has been held awarding of the winners Global Track, national contest of Startup-projects “Business of innovation technologies” (BIT).

The program Global Track is organized by RVC and Corporation Intel in order to support perspective Russian technological Startups, outputting knowledge-intensive products and services on a global market. Organizers see its aim in cooperation of promotion of the best Startup-projects at a international scene, provision of Russian teams by experience and partner connections abroad, integration acceleration of Russian companies to international technological chains.

The nomination Global Track collected more than three hundres applications from Russian technological startups, which is 66% more in comparison with the last year, when it hav been collected a little more than 100 applications.

The winners of this year became: the projects of navigation system of augmented reality for automobiles WayRay, service of medical interpretation of genetic data iBinom and fire-prevention development “Device of arc flash protection. These projects will present Russia in the final of international contest Intel Global Challenge in Californian University at Berkeley (on October, 7-10 2013). Russian teams have already won a high reputation on this contest: in 2011 the project Maxygen with an original system of DNA-diagnostics took the second place.

A special prize from RVC received a team RealSpeaker, leader of which will get an opportunity to present its project to investors of Boston and Silicon Valley within the limits of Russian Innovation Week (September 17-20, 2013).

“Initiative Global Track is a logical continuation and next step in Intel programs development on innovation entrepreneurism support in Russia, - noted Aleksey Nikolaev, chief of programs for high education of Corporation Intel in Russia and CIS countries. – Youth contest of business plans Intel-Berkeley, educational events in Russia and USA are very valuable for our innovators. International experiences, global vision on markets are very required to our project teams. Global Track is a “window” to the best international practices of high-tech entrepreneurism, promotion of the best Russian projects on a global scene”.

The year 2013 became record-breaking during the whole 10-year history of BIT in terms of teams quantity, which have filed applications on international track and which have initially planned its business global”, - noted Gulnara Bikkulova, director of innovation markets department of RVC. – “This is a great trend and in RVC, creating opportunities on communication with international investors and experts for Russian Startups, we hope that in several weeks the finalists of BIT will manage to build competitive on international markets companies”.
