MISiS, a leading Moscow-based technology university, has developed a range of nanotechnologies for modern auto making, Science and Technology Russia reported. The technologies were presented at the most recent Interauto international car show in a see-through Bugatti sport car. These reportedly include carbon nanotube based antiwear additives, corrosion-resistant coatings, self-cleaning glass, etc. In addition, the Russian university also showcased more than 20 new materials for car manufacture, including nano- and submicrocrystal structured strontium ferrites for next gen hard magnetic materials used, for example, in a car?s fuel level sensors; aluminum-based cast alloys with a special protective coating to make pistons in internal combustion engines; and some others...
