Groupon purchased a service of urgent hotel reservation Blink

The company Groupon purchases Spanish service Blink, which offers services on urgent hotel rooms` booking. The service works with two thousand hotels-partners in eight countries of Europe, and offers to book a room in last moment with help of a smartphone – based on Android or iOS.

Deal`s terms are not disclosed. After the purchase the service will be renamed in Blink by Groupon, but will continue to work as a separate structure. Nevertheless Groupon, which offers online-purchase of discount coupons, expects due to this purchase to significantly increase a range of its services, which refer to tourism and travels, including touristic services, tours and booking packages.

For Blonk cooperation with a large company is very important under conditions of high competition on the market of urgent hotel booking. The service HotelTonight, which offers similar services, last week announced about gathered funds in amount of $45M. The service Hot Hotels, also established in Spain, is actively developing and announced about record results during this summer.
