RoboCV, a high-tech Russian company, is robotizing warehouse electrical machinery at Samsung?s Russian production site outside Kaluga some 180km south of Moscow, the official Skolkovo Foundation website announced. RoboCV is a resident of Skolkovo?s space tech and telecom cluster. The company is pushing its project using X-Motion, a smart autopiloting system developed by RoboCV engineers. The effort has already resulted in a reported six pieces of warehouse machinery now being able to move about the factory and perform their functions in the site?s logistics completely independently, without any driver. The project is part of Samsung?s long-term strategy for cutting internal logistics costs and boosting labor efficiency. At the moment, the Russian robotics developer is drafting a plan aimed at continuing to automate Samsung?s warehouse engineering at the Kaluga factory. X-Motion is believed to be a kind of ?artificial intelligence? for warehouses. Using special computer vision sensors enables the system to ?see? the environment by creating its mathematical model, and make decisions about where to move and how to bypass obstacles based on data the model generates...
