A new production line to manufacture next gen cardioimplants based on silicon-coated titanium nickelide will be set up in Academpark, in Siberia?s Novosibirsk, Academpark announced. The implant will be placed in a patient?s heart and is expected to help boost recovery of living tissues and prevent complications as silicon is known for its biocompatibility properties, the Novosibirsk techno-park explained. The biocompatible silicon-based coating and technology of how to apply the new product have been developed in the neighboring Siberian city of Tomsk by researchers at the Institute of Physics of Strength and Material Science.
