NEVZ-Ceramics, a Novosibirsk-based innovation company in Siberia, is setting up shop to manufacture nanostructured ceramics based products, Rusnanonet.ru reported. The two-year-old JV between Rusnano, Russia?s nanotech giant, and Novosibirsk?s Soyuz Electrovacuum Factory is launching the production line this coming Friday. The nanostructured ceramics based products will reportedly be used in electronics, radio engineering (including that for military purposes), oil and gas production, electricity generation, nuclear energy, chemical processes, and in medicine. Between 2011 and now NEVZ-Ceramics is said to have raised about $16m for nanoceramics-related R&D. According to experts, the global market for such ceramics is growing at a fairly robust CAGR of 9% and is expected to reach an estimated $73bn by 2015.
