Skolkovo team pushes advanced computer networking

The Skolkovo Foundation?s IT cluster is home to a range of next gen computer technologies being developed at the local Applied Research Center for Computer Networks, the Foundation website announced. The Center leads the cluster?s effort in developing a new generation of networks based on state-of-the-art technologies, including software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV). The Center team is also developing a line of hardware products to complement its software, Skolkovo underscored. The technologies that th Center is developing are on a list of what the Foundation described as ?most advanced and promising IT approaches? of the past decade alongside cutting-edge cloud solutions and big data. The Russian Government has also defined SDN and NFV technologies as national priorities in IT-related R&D. ?The Center has been set up to bring together intellectual potential in software-defined networking and support the development of world-class high-tech products.
