Russian-Chinese trade and investment forum in Moscow
Sergey Katyrin, the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry President, spoke at the plenary session of the Russian-Chinese trade and investment forum, held in the World Trade Center (WTC) within the visit of the Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang to Russia.
The forum was organized by the Ministry of Commerce of China, the RF Ministry of Economic Development, State Development and Reform Committee of China and the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade. The subject of the Forum was devoted to the development of financial, investment, innovation, energy and high-tech cooperation between the two countries.
The forum was attended by the First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov, the State Council of China Deputy Prime Minister Li Keqiang, Vice Minister of the Russian Federation Economic Development Aleksei Likhachev, Deputy Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan, as well as representatives of political and business elite of Russia and China.
The Forum was opened by the Plenary, the co-moderator of which was vice-president of the RF CCI Georgi Petrov.
Sergey Katyrin stressed in his speech at the plenary session that developing relations with China is one of the priorities of the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The RF CCI is actively involved in the task of bringing bilateral trade to $ 100 B by 2015 and to $ 200 B by 2020. The reliable partners of the Chamber in this work are the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Russian-Chinese Business Council.
According to Sergei Katyrin the system of Russian Chamber of Commerce is unique: it consists of 174 chambers of commerce and industry operating in every subject of the Russian Federation, many of them have experience in long-term mutually beneficial cooperation with China Council offices in the provinces of China.
Russian entrepreneurs are taking an increasingly prominent part in international exhibitions in China (Guangzhou, Harbin, Jilin, Urumqi), and Chinese business - in exhibitions in Russia.
The main task of the RF CCI today is to engage small and medium-sized enterprises in Russia in the maximum bilateral economic and trade ties, said Sergei Katyrin. In his opinion, the deepening of this area will help diversify the mutual trade, improve the structure of Russian exports, and build industrial and cooperative chains.
The current visit of the Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang to Russia will be another milestone in the development of friendly relations and partnership between our countries, the head of the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce is convinced.
