A competition of innovative projects for high school students by SiemensThe VII All-Russian competition of scientific and innovative projects for high school students, conducted by Siemens Company has been started on September 1, 2012. This project is aimed at supporting young talents in science and technology and is an important part of Siemens’s work in the area of corporate social responsibility aimed at promoting the development of Russian education and culture.

Siemens will hold the contest in the 2012-2013 school years, offering the contestants to choose the theme of their scientific and technological projects. The main thing is that the theme should be connected with the main activities of the concern - energy, industry, health, transport, infrastructure and cities. High school students will need to develop and propose solutions of current problems in these areas using innovative approaches and ideas.

The students of the 9th, 10th and 11th grades of secondary schools as well as students of 1-2 courses in schools and colleges from 14 to 18 years old can try their hand at the Siemens competition.

The competition is traditionally held in two stages on the territory of Russia. The selection of the best projects in each federal district of the country takes place at the first regional stage. The winners of the regional finals are invited to federal stage of the competition which will take place in the spring of 2013 in Moscow.

The projects of contestants are evaluated by the advisory council that includes the representatives of leading universities in the country, regional administrations, scientists of RAS, as well as Siemens top managers.

The contestants will be able to get cash prizes from 20K RUR to 350K RUR. Special awards are also provided for winners’ advisors, most active curators, as well as schools of winners.
