The Nizhny Novgorod Regional Ministry of Education in close collaboration with Intel and the local Elevator to the Future nonprofit are pushing across Russia?s 15-constituent Volga Federal District their joint STEM Centers program, portal Nanometer.ru reported. The STEM Centers are a network of laboratories enabling high school students to work on scientific projects and receive mentorship from young university professors and R&D organization employees. A preparatory stage of the 2014 program was formally launched in late November. During the month of December high school students are choosing scientific areas to focus on and labs to work at. The STEM Centers operate on the premises of regional academic research institutes and universities in the Volga Federal District...
