Bright Capital has invested $3.5M in an Online photography schoolA major Russian project Online Photo School for on-line photography art learning has attracted about $3.5M investment from a venture fund Bright Capital Digital. The money will be spent on the creation of English version of the project to enter new markets.

Online Photo School provides distance learning via the Internet. The main project is Fotoshkola.net, a training site for photography, the founder of the company Arkady Akulov says. One of the most important differences from similar resources is that its users are not trained in a group but individually. The company plans to enter the U.S., Japanese and Chinese markets, the English version of the project is under development.

Fotoshkola.net is the largest RuNet online photography school, built with the use of Video + technology which combines video courses, theoretical materials, creative homework and detailed analysis of students’ works. School invites both beginners and experienced photographers. Fotoshkola.net works on user’s personal schedule 24 hours a day anywhere in the world online. At the moment, the project has more than 20K paid and 250K free subscribers. According to company executives, the Russian part of the project has already paid off.
