A carbon fiber production line launched in Moskvich technopark

A production line of carbon fiber products for the construction industry and energy was launched this week on the innovation development territory (IDT) Moskvich. The ceremony was attended by the mayor of Moscow Sergei Sobyanin and the CEO of Composite holding Leonid Melamed.

The new production line based on pultrusion (pulling) technology, which allows producing composite materials with hard cross-structure, will produce composite rebar and other high-tech products for the construction industry and energy.

Sergei Sobyanin said that there are 20 residents on the innovation development territory (IDT) Moskvich. Over the past year since the launch of the site, the area has changed; the empty space became a real place for innovative production.

This infrastructure allows innovative companies to significantly reduce the costs of the import and export of necessary components, equipment and materials, - he said.

Sobyanin assured that the city authorities intend to further the development of the territory, to continue reconstruction of facilities, create necessary infrastructure of technology clusters including the so-called clean rooms for microelectronics and other sterile industries.

There are plans to re-brand the IDT, which will be renamed as Technopolis Moscow.
