The contenders for the Startup of the Year Award 2012

The accepting of applications for the annual award Startup of the Year ended. The main objectives of the Prize are to encourage efficient business solutions, note creative approach to new business start-ups, to enjoy the success of bright startups and inspire young entrepreneurs to new developments.

At the moment, the first stage of the prize - the definition of contenders – is over. The jury will select 3 or 4 contenders to the finals from each category till November, 19.

The award is organized in five categories:
1. Best innovative startup that established a business based on the most promising technology.
2. Discovery of the year/Quick Start - a company that was founded in 2012 and showed the most rapid growth and development.
3. Social start-up - a company aimed at social problems solving.
4. Global startup - a startup working in markets outside Russia.
5. Team of the Year - the best team in the start-up market in 2012. The award is given with the support of PRUFFI.

The contest will end with Startup of the Year Award ceremony on December, 4 to name the winners in each category. Award winners will receive The Golden Apple statuette and attention from the audience, investors and press. In addition, all the finalists will receive special prizes from the Award's partners.
