The finalists of VC Day Ingria

The developers presented a number of unique projects: a system that allows blind people to orient themselves in space, a power plant based on artificial tornado, a universal voice control for all equipment in apartment, a mobile robot to monitor homes and offices, multifunctional protective nanofilms. The VC Day finalists presented over 20 different projects and solutions in areas such as robotics, transportation, energy conservation, monitoring systems, nanotechnology, oil and gas, medical devices.
Following the presentations, investors and experts determined the top three projects:
• 1st place went to the Sibsensor project. The startup team presented fiber-optic temperature sensors that can measure the temperature of extended objects with an accuracy of 0,1 °C and spatial resolution of 0.25 m.
• 2nd place was awarded to the Oriense project. It is a device for blind and visually impaired people which helps them to orient in space.
• 3rd place went to e-Trike project. It is an electric transformer vehicle, which can run both on the road and bike paths, narrow lanes, and so on.
The idea of the event is to draw attention to venture capital investments in hardware. We invited not only venture capital funds looking for promising projects, but large industrial groups and enterprises too, - Igor Rozhdestvensky said, the Director of Ingria Business incubator.
A preselection of startups from across Russia to participate in VCDay was conducted prior to the event. As the result, the applications were received from 78 projects from 20 cities of Russia.
