First semi-finalists of BIT 2013The finals of the contest of innovative projects BIT Ural 2013 took place within the V Ural Venture Forum. There were 14 finalists selected out of 43 projects submitted. The winner is the SkyChroma project with its real-time video mixer software, the leader of the project is Dmitry Moskvin. The second place went to Alexander Smotritsky’s project Energy efficient technology for the production of environmentally friendly fertilizer from organic waste. The third place was won by the Softwarefor 3Dscanningsystems 3Dom project by Dmitry Lavrinov.

The Jury Chairman of BIT 2013 Ural was Arthur Baganov, the CEO of Global TechInnovations and co-founder of the Seattle-based Alliance of Angels, who headed the jury of BIT Urals in 2010. The 2013 season’s projects were assessed by such known entrepreneurs and VCs as Maxim Shekhovtsov (a venture capitalist, co-founder and chairman of the supervisory board of TexDrive.com international accelerator of tech companies), Michail Tsigankov (managing oartner of Global TechInnovations), Dmitry Morozov (the director of Global Venture consulting company). In addition, the jury also included Valentina Slavina, who represented Ural individual VCs, Sergey Arkhipov and Dmitry Styopkin - Ural Heavy Machinery Works (OMZ) - the partner of the BIT-engineering programme, Vadim Mezenin - Ural representation of the Fund for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology, Igor Glukhikh - Tyumen academic direction, as well as representatives of RVC - strategic partner of the Ural stage of the competition.

The winners received unique opportunity to participate in RVC’s acceleration programme. The first part of the programme includes 12 online workshops on the basics of technology entrepreneurship with existing serial entrepreneurs, Russian and international industry experts and investors.

Semi-finalists successfully completed the educational program will be invited to a unique two-week acceleration programme in Moscow. Serial entrepreneurs and mentors experienced in successful businesses creation will work with the teams during the programme. Best 12-15 teams – the accelerator graduates - will have the opportunity to make a presentation to several hundred investors at the Investment Day within Moscow International Forum for Innovative Development Open Innovations.
