Nanocenter of the Republic of Tatarstan announces its areas of specialization

Nanotechnology Center of the Republic of Tatarstan announced its main areas of specialization for projects selection: chemicals and petrochemicals, composite materials, and biotechnologies.

According to the Board of the Nanotechnology Center, the specializations selected will allow the NTC RT to integrate into the most advanced economic sectors of the region, which representatives are interested to conduct some business processes or developments using equipment of the Nanotechnology Center.

The main feature of nanotech startups is that they represent long-term and multi-level integration projects that open new markets, - Dmitry Pashin explains, the General Director of the RT Nanotechnology Center. - Tatarstan has many nanotech developments that are strictly selected considering both specializations of the Nanocenter and deals’ profitability. We have reviewed about 400 applications, and 30 of them are under development.

Objectives for 2013: to finance more than 20 startups, order more than a dozen R&Ds. In addition, the RT Nanotechnology Center starts intensive work with the members of the Kama innovative regional production cluster in 2013. Recall that the development programme of the cluster involves dozens of large and medium projects in petrochemicals, engineering industry, business services, personnel training, etc. The anchor partner companies of the Nanocenter will be Nizhnekamskneftekhim, Tatneft, KAMAZ, and Ford Sollers Holding.
