Bill Gates is the richest person according to Bloomberg
The 57-year-old founder and chairman of Microsoft Bill Gates topped the world’s richest people list. The list, dubbed the Billionaires Index, was prepared by business news agency Bloomberg.
According to the agency, Gates’s fortune has grew by $10B and amounted to $72,7B. The founder of the American corporation received this title in 2007 last time. Microsoft shares rose 28% and reached a maximum in the past five years.
Last time the top spot was occupied by Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim, who is now moved to the second line of the index, since his fortune is just $550M less. American investor Warren Buffett retains the third place in the Bloomberg’s ranking. He is followed by the Inditex trading empire founder Amancio Ortega ($56B). The founder of IKEA Swedish concern Ingvar Kamprad ($55,5B) closes the Top 5.
