RVC Infrafund invests in the development of Astrakhan IT Park

RVC Infrafund invests in the development of Astrakhan IT ParkRVC Infrafund and GC Pilot, the largest player in the Astrakhan system integration market, jointly invested in the development of regional IT Park FABRIKA. The investment will be used to develop consulting services for the residents of Astrakhan IT Park, and to launch an incentive programme for innovative projects. The project was made possible due to the expansion of cooperation of RVC, Astrakhan regional administration and regional ecosystem participants.

Incentive programmes will be launched as part of the project implementation. The selection of programmes’ participants will be conducted on a competitive basis by the Supervisory Board of the IT Park. It is assumed that FABRIKA will attract 5 venture funds and about 50 business angels as partners during this year. In addition, the IT Park intends to build a model of interaction with tech universities and universities of neighboring regions in order to attract the most promising teams working in the IT market.

FABRIKA is a platform for many important events in innovation, in particular, for the regional finals of Microsoft Imagine Cup, school of young programmers and IT Start etc. The regional final of Russian StartUp Tour took place in Astrakhan IT Park in April of this year and involved 176 tech entrepreneurs from Astrakhan and neighboring regions.

For the two years of its work, the IT Park has united participants of the venture investment market and budding tech companies of the region. It has become a base of such known Russian startups as BRAVO MOTORS (a project to create an ultra-compact electric vehicle-transformer), Agent Plus (a developer of business apps to monitor employees), Sleepdy project (sleep apnea diagnosis), a service for spot online advertising Adwify and others.
