In Mordovia have discussed projects with participation of Rosnano and venture

The Chief of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov has conducted the working meeting with director general of “Gazprombank – high technologies”, LLC, the Chairman of the supervisory board of the Mordovia Republic venture Fund Aleksey Nikolaev.

In the course of the dialogue gave been discussed questions on realization in Mordovia a range of investment projects with participation of “ROSNANO”, JSC and the venture Fund of the Republic. Particularly, the question was about building in Saransk the first in Russia plant on production of optical fiber.

“Creation of such unique knowledge-intense production will have a huge importance for the Republic economy and the country on the whole”, - underlined the Chief of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov.

It is planned to enter the project power – 2.5 million kilometers of optical fiber per year – during 2015-2016 years. Volumes of production allow replacing about 20% of import. The Chief of Mordovia has set a mission to accelerate works on this important direction for the Republic.

Also, in the course of the working meeting has been considered an opportunity of creating in Mordovia some more important manufactures in light-technical and cable clusters. Nowadays the Republic Managing Fund portfolio contains about a dozen of high-tech projects.
