Renova assets to start ?solar revolution? in Russia next year
Hevel Solar, a Russian solar module developer, is launching thin-film solar module production next year at its factory in Chuvashia, in the mid-Volga area, to supply another Renova asset in its solar power station construction project
Hevel Solar, a solar module making JV between Russia?s Rusnano and Renova, a major group of Russian industrial companies, is launching thin-film solar module production next spring at its factory in Novocheboksarsk in Chuvashia, in the mid-Volga area, Russian news agency RIA Novosti reported, citing a statement by Rusnano president Anatoly Chubais. In a separate move, by the end of next year, another Renova subsidiary, Avelar Solar Technology, is expected to join the project. Hevel will supply the company building thin-film module-based solar power stations. Hevel was originally supposed to set up shop back in 2012, but had to then push back the dates several times for undisclosed reasons. To support the Hevel project, Renova and Rusnano have joint plans to put up a combined $83m to build by 2020 a network of solar power stations in Russia with an aggregate capacity of more than 600MW...
