The Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod (UNN) has joined the winners of the Russian Government?s fourth open competition for large grants that are expected to help develop innovation scientific projects led by the world?s top researchers, UNN announced. UNN?s effort at the competition has resulted in the Nizhny Novgorod university winning two of what is known as ?megagrants? for the implementation of two sizable projects. One, led by Academician Sergei Nedospasov, a Russian biologist, is focused on developing new drugs and therapies for autoimmune diseases. The other is expected to help create biocompatible luminescent nanosystems for theranostics (a combinatory approach to therapy and diagnostics) and is led by Andrei Zvyagin, a professor at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia...
