Liotech, a Novosibirsk storage battery manufacturer in Siberia, is considering opening its rep office in Latvia, in the Baltic region, to launch the process of getting its lithium-ion products certified in the European Union, Regnum.ru reported. The Siberian company may sign an MoU with its Latvian partners in May, followed in late 2014 by the opening of a physical office there. ?Latvian businesses have shown keen interest in Liotech products and technologies. A number of preliminary agreements have been inked in the past two months, aimed at developing partnerships in the energy sector,? said Sergei Potapkin, an MP in the Latvian Saeima (Parliament), in an exchange with Regnum. In January 2014, a Liotech delegation visited Latvia and held talks with AO Latvenergo, the national energy provider, Latvian Railways, and local smaller businesses.
