The contest of scientific efforts The Vanguard of Knowledge launches in Russia

On February 24, 2012 the contest of scientific efforts The Vanguard of Knowledge launches in Russia. The contest is organized by the All-Russian Festival of science and Russian Venture Company, Open Joint Stock Company "RUSNANO" and Skolkovo Fund.

Biology, chemistry, pharmacology and medicine scientists can become a party to the contest. In consideration of The Vanguard of Knowledge that took place last year and collected 85 applications the organizers made a decision to add more topics this year: besides oncology and cardiology there will be infectious diseases and the new methods of study topics.

The winners will get 450 K RUR prize and priority support in obtaining the resident of Sokolovo status.

The manager of biological and medicine technologies cluster of Sokolovo Igor Goryanin says: “Russia traditionally has great fertility of thought and original approach to task solving. However, it historically established that we lack the experience of commercialization of our scientific studies. The successful realisation of such projects like The Vanguard of Knowledge can make the innovation leader out of Russia and let the country supply the global market with unique solutions in medicine and public health”

Scientifically promising projects will be announced in October 2012.
