FabLab network to draw young people in science in Krasnoyarsk region
FabLab’s centers network for Youth Innovation Creativity will be created in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. This was announced today by the Deputy Minister of Investments and Innovations of the region Olga Ruhullaeva at a press conference organized specially for this occasion. Technological Ideology of FabLab (fabrication laboratory, industrial laboratory) is one of the most modern systems of innovation to draw young people in science. These labs allow using available software and high-tech equipment to work out the prospects of innovation projects. Besides, implementation of technical ideas period is hundred times less.
The main objective of this project is to involve children and young people of school age and students in scientific and technical creativity. FabLab regarded as an educational technology, aimed at finding, training and support of the new generation of young researchers with practical experience of team work at the junction of promising areas of expertise.
The system of scientific and technical work, created in the Krasnoyarsk region, will attract young professionals to study and practical application of high technology with immersion in the logic of innovative entrepreneurship. It will also lead to the development of links between education, research and production of innovative enterprises. It will enhance the creativity of children and youth, as well as serve as the basis for the creation and maintenance of reserve personnel in innovative technologies.
The first phase of the laboratory establishment will be funded by the state. Then private investment will be also attracted. The centers will be equipped with multi-function machines for prototyping and modeling, as the Krasnoyarsk Territory reported.
Olga Ruhullaeva quoted Neil Gershenfeld, the author of FabLab’s ideology: Give a gadget to a man, and you will interest him in new technologies for the day. Teach him how to make his own gadgets, and he will devote all his life to technologies.
