Bortnik’s Fund to invest in some companies of Tomsk

State Fund for promotion of small enterprises in scientific-technical sphere has published the information on successful completion of the next stage of scientific developments (R & D) by a number of small innovative enterprises of Tomsk.

Eight Tomsk enterprises won the competition of federal budget funds for the second year of projects implementation under the program Start. Each of them will receive from 1.6 to 2 M RUR from the Fund in 2012-2013s. Another enterprise of Tomsk LLC TMI won the contest for the third stage of R&D, the amount of financial support will amount to 2.8 M RUR.

These companies won previous Start competitions, which suggest phasing of projects financing – for up to 3 years.

It should be noted that most of them have also received support under the city target innovative programs. On the one hand, it shows how much attention is paid by the Administration of Tomsk to promising developments of Tomsk high-tech enterprises, and on the other hand it increases the attractiveness of the project in potential investors’ eyes. Tomsk Foundation office, which works on the basis of the Department of Economic Development, plays an important role in this process.

It should be noted that Tomsk region retains leadership among Russian regions in a major indicator of the Fund - the share of companies that won the Start and switched to the second and subsequent stages of R & D. And a long-term federal funding, as experience shows, stands surety for the significance of the project, its availability for the national economy, as the Administration of Tomsk says.
