A manager from the U.S. became the Vice President of Skoltech
Edward Seidel, former Deputy Director for research in mathematics and physics of the U.S. National Science Foundation, has been appointed as the Vice-President of Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech).
Among other duties at the new post, Seidel will manage the research unit of the Institute, he will develop partnership with international research and education centers, and among other things will be one of the first leading professors of Skoltech and will teach at the graduate and post-graduate institute.
Seidel was responsible for national programs in astronomy, chemistry, materials science, mathematics, and physics when worked in the National Science Foundation, the largest agency in the country (its budget is $7B) to support research and education in all fields of science and development, U.S.
