Siberia?s nanosilver for fertilizers, cosmetics, windows? and household irons

Siberia?s nanosilver for fertilizers, cosmetics, windows? and household ironsScientists in Siberia?s Kemerovo are developing innovation nanosilver-based products to be used in agriculture, cosmetics? and even in household irons.

Scientists at the Kemerovo Institute of Food Industry Technology?one of the leading R&D institutions in the coal-rich Kuzbass area in Siberia?are developing innovation nanosilver-based products to be used in agriculture and cosmetics, and are also planning commercial production of a special liquid for household irons, regional news portal Lentaregion.ru reports citing Yuri Sidorin from the institute?s innovation technology lab. According to Mr. Sidorin, the wide range of nanosilver applications stems from the material?s manifest disinfectant properties. The institute has managed to develop nanosilver with one-to-two nanometer particles, which appears to be a cut above the 10-20 nanometer technology currently tapped in cosmetics. ?Due to their small size our particles are more active and can therefore improve the properties of the material,? the scientist said. His laboratory in Kemerovo is gearing up for commercial production of a new facial tonic based on the material, he said...
