Students will fight for $1M from Microsoft

In June, 8 in Saint Petersburg started finalists selection in technological contest of students` projects Imagine Cup 2013 from Microsoft. Global final for the first time in 11 years is held in Russia.

About 300 students from 69 countries over the world will present its works in IT sphere, where the most innovative students IT-projects all over the world will present their projects – from mobile applications to robots. Winners will be awarded prizes on the total amount of $1M and other rich reward.

Today and tomorrow, July 9 and 10 will be held main teams’ competitions, when students will have to present their projects to international jury.

Contests results will be held in July, 11, on Thursday, where in the evening of that day winners will be awarded within the limits of a bright show in Aleksandrinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg. It is important to clarify, that citizens and city guests at first time will see all the projects of competitors. Exhibition will be opened in Park Inn Hotel Pribaltijskaya from 13pm till 15pm. This year the greatest amount of young people took part in a contest – about 500 thousands of students, it is 70% greater in comparison with the last year. In Russia Imagine Cup 2013 collected more than 3 thousand applications with projects ideas. Our country is second in the world by the quantity of projects, giving place to China.
