Winners of the contest “Imagine Cup-213” have been announced

For the first time in Russia in Saint Petersburg has been held a final of the largest technology contest “Imagine Cup 2013”, which is conducted by the Microsoft company with the support of “Skolkovo” Fund among students all over the world, presenting unique projects and prototypes of their innovative products. Russian participants of the “Imagine Cup 2013” final did not join the ranks of winners.
There were three main nominations in the contest:

- In nomination “Games” the winner is a project from Austria Zeppelin Studio (their development Schein is a game based on puzzles, in which light is the key to everything: to victory over dangerous animals, to task difficult solutions, to search hidden ways in a dark wet moor);
- In nomination “Social projects” the winner is a Portuguese team “For a Better World”, which has developed a system for quick (5 minutes) blood group determination;
- In nomination “Innovations” the winner is a British team “Colinked” with their development “soundSYNK” – a social network, devoted to music and based on congeniality of interests.

For St.Petersburg it was privileged to host students all over the world within the limits of “Imagine Cup”, said St.Petersburg governor Georgy Poltavchenko in his address to participants of this competition, which was read out by the chief of Innovations Committee Maksim Meiksin.

“St.Petersburg pays much attention to technologies and business development; we try to open hi-tech manufactures in the city because it is our future, - noted Mr.Poltavchenko. – This is why International week of Innovations and Information technologies, which has been held in Sy.Petersburg, is the most important step to create knowledge economy”.
