The RF team has won hackathon “PayPal Battle Hack” with the prize of $100KA team, consisting of four Russian programmers, has won the final stage of International hackathon “PayPal Battle Hack”, which has ended in the American city Can-Jose, informs observer of the portal “Digit.Ru”. Participants have been offered during one day to develop absolutely new service, in which would be implemented the payment system PayPal.

The winner of the final stage, which has been conducted in November, 16-17 in California, became the company from Russia – Bairam Annakov, Oksana Tretyakova, Sergey Pronin and Aleksander Balaban received for their development $100K and prizes of hackathon in the shape of axes.

The team has developed the device and a mobile service “DonateNow”, which allow gathering donation, using technology of non-contact payments “PayPal Beacon”. For example, if a person is in a restaurant, he can get a notification about donation on food for homeless, the amount of already gathered sum of money and remained to gather. The user can choose a sum of donation, enter its own sum or decline an offer.

According to Mr.Balaban, the main competitor for them was the team from Seattle with development based on Kinect. Mr.Annakov said the team will share the prize, and he plans to reinvest his part in the company, in which participants work. According to Mr.Pronin, the team plans to continue development of the device, which they have presented at the “Battle Hack”.

The second place and notebooks “MacBook Air” took a team from Tel-Aviv. They have presented an application for joint run-trainings “RunPal”, in which a user gives a particular sum of money for the mode execution, which comes to the partner, if he misses a run. The third place took the team from Miami, which showed a service for small short-term loans “LoanPal”, and received prizes in the shape of tabs “Google Nexus 7”.
