The tags are expected to help drivers avoid being unfairly fined and make sure violations are recorded accurately. The city has plans to start equipping toll parking lots with RFID tags in December 2013. The first to be tagged will be parking lots located within what is known as the Bulvarny Ring in the very heart of the Russian capital.
