Saratov scientists showcase ?unique? RFID tagScientists from Saratov State University in the Lower Volga area showcased at SOFTOOL-2013 their unique RFID solution based on surface acoustic waves

Saratov Chernyshevsky State University (SChSU), a major university in the Lower Volga area, presented last week at Moscow?s SOFTOOL-2013 IT project show what it claims is a ?unique? RFID solution developed by SGU-Kontakt, an education and R&D center spun off from SChSU, the SChSU press service announced. The project aims to create passive RFID tags based on surface acoustic waves. In this work, SGU-Kontakt has been assisted by researchers from SChSU?s United Institute of Micro- and Nanoelectronics. The RFID tag developed in Saratov is only 22mm; any Russian or foreign analog is at least five times the size. This makes it possible to mount a tag in a hidden spot. One can identify a tag ?very fast? at a distance of up to 20 meters?a major cut above prior Russian results of just 8 meters. The developers claim the tag ?can?t possibly be forged...
