Dmitry Medvedev admitted underdevelopment of venture capital investments in RRussian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev drew attention to the underdevelopment of venture capital investment in Russia at a meeting of the expert community on the development of entrepreneurship in universities and research centers, which was held in Novosibirsk. He also proposed to include business representatives in scientist’s councils of universities, and to license the results of innovators intellectual activity.

A lack of investment remains a key problem. It is necessary to develop venture capital investment and attract state funds. We also need to analyze IPO opportunities, - Dmitry Medvedev said.

According to Dmitry Medvedev, we need to continue creating a favorable operation mode for innovative companies with the help of state and to form innovation management for the development of innovative entrepreneurship in Russia.

One of obvious ways is to benefit from business representatives in the governing bodies of institutions of higher education. It seems to me that such a symbiotic relationship between business and scientific community is what we need, not only in terms of the commercialization of certain developments, but also in terms of management. This can improve the situation in a number of cases. I primarily mean, of course, the inclusion of right figures in academic councils, boards of trustees, supervisory boards ... - the head of the government said.

Dmitry Medvedev pointed out that the rights to intellectual products of innovative enterprises are owned by the founders - universities and research institutes. Foreign universities transfer patents to developers. At this point we could give Russian innovators an exclusive license on the results of intellectual activity, - the government website quotes the head of the Cabinet of Ministers.
