Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitri Medvedev Visited Startup Village
On May 28, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation D.A. Medvedev participated in the main startup event of the year – Startup Village..
Although this visit wasn’t scheduled in the progamme of the event, many people at the Startup Village expected a high ranking representative of the state since it was for the first time that more than 1000 Russian innovative entrepreneurs gathered in one venue.
During his visit D.A. Medvedev attended Skolkovo biomedical and renewable energy clusters, pitch-presentation training for the Startup Village competition finalists, and also talked to the representatives of those companies, who displayed their projects in the improvised “museum of the future” – a technology exhibition on the ground floor of the Hypercube.
In his speech in the section “Review of Power Engineering Market – Technologies Changing the World” the Prime Minister marked that the discussed topics are pressing subjects for the state. For example, some time ago he had signed a decree which was directed at stimulating renewable energy development in Russia.
“We use our potential insufficiently”, marked Dmitri Medvedev. “I, for instance, haven’t heard that there are geothermal sources on the territory of Kaliningrad. This is at least one reason why it is useful to attend such events… By the way, we must find that place.”
