Northwest Siberia ready to share experience in IT with BRICS

Yugra (Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District), a large oil and gas producing region in Northwest Siberia, has plans to share its knowledge and experience in IT with the BRICS countries, Russian news agency ITAR-TASS reports. The region is reportedly gearing up for the 6th International IT Forum to be held next year. Governor Natalia Komarova of Yugra suggested earlier this month that the BRICS, a group of the world?s relatively fast-developing countries including Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, be invited to join the forum. Yugra has hosted five similar IT-Forums already, and the governor hopes the 2014 event could offer a ?good venue for discussions of joint projects in IT,? the source reported. The last such forum took place this past June. Thirty Russian regions were represented, including Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yaroslavl, Tyumen, Perm, Kazan and Omsk.
