Four hours to complete innovation component prototype in Urals

It has taken Prototyping Center employees at Yekaterinburg-based Ural Federal University (UrFU) less than a day to create a prototype of an important new machine part that a local Sverdlovsk regional defense factory needs, the UrFU press service announced. The work was completed ?for just four hours using plastic and a modern industrial 3D printer,? UrFU emphasized. ?This is an exact copy of the real component, scaled down by 75 times,? said Yuri Avraamov, the director of the Prototyping Center. Center specialists are said to have managed to create the smallest areas of the model with the size of one-tenth of a millimeter.
