Swiss business is ready to cooperate with innovation RussiaThe second Russian-Swiss forum of industrialists that aimed to implement the Declaration on Cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Swiss Confederation in industrial modernization took place on July 6, 2012 in the Swiss city of Basel with the support of RVC. The declaration was signed by the economy Ministers of the two countries in the presence of the presidents of Russia and Switzerland on July 13, 2011 in Kolomna.

According to RVC, among the main organizers of this year's meeting was the Swiss-Russian industrial business-club (SRIBC). The event was attended by representatives of Russian Embassy in Switzerland, the Russian Engineering Union, the Swiss foreign economic association OSEC, the Swiss association of machine building, electrical and metallurgical industry Swissmem, Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU), OJSC RVC and other companies.

Russia's Ambassador to Switzerland Alexander Golovin noted the importance of the Forum, and stressed that political and economic relations between the two countries are developing dynamically. In 2011, bilateral trade volume was a record in the history of the countries and exceeded $14.5 B.

The main topic for discussion at the forum was about the issues of further cooperation development between the two countries. In particular, the experts reviewed the details of the partnership within the framework of Russian-Swiss Declaration on cooperation in economic modernization, collaboration in high technology, microelectronics, energy systems. They also discussed the details of cooperation with Russia after the entry of our country into the WTO and foreign investors investing in Russian technology companies, particularly in RVC Fund’s projects.

The participation of the FEFU delegation – a partner of JSC RVC - was aimed at exploring the possibilities to attract investment in innovative projects of the university under the Declaration on Cooperation.
The work of foreign investors in Russia is more evident - the director of the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development, a member of OJSC RVC Board Andrew Vvedensky says. - We can observe an increase in foreign investment in Russian companies in the last 2-3 years. In order to effectively operate in the global market, the Russian technology companies need to meet international standards, to be integrated into global supply and added value chains. Foreign investors, in turn, must have available mechanisms for investing in startups, and our legislation largely meets the requirements.

During the discussion on Innovation platform for Russian entrepreneurs in Switzerland - is a demand there? Swiss and Russian experts, including RVC representatives, agreed that with the support and active participation of SRIBC there could be a European center of innovation in Switzerland soon. This center would be a guest business incubator, for Russian companies too, as well as a Technopark and a place for training.

Swiss-Russian industrial business-club was founded in 2011 to promote cooperation between Swiss and Russian business structures and the integration of innovation and investment processes of the two countries. To date, the number of members of the Club has reached 40. OJSC RVC acquired the status of Permanent Observer to the Club in September 2011.
