Moscow authorities launched Startups incubator at Digital October

On the territory of the former factory Krasnyi Octyabr` started its work the field of Startups acceleration API Moscow. This field is populated by the Companies` projects, which have received astatus of accredited partners. There are four such companies - Global TechInnovations by Artur Baganov and Mikhail Tsygankov, Atsani by Igor Mastanyuk, Vestor.In by Pavel Cherkashin, and Altair.VC by Igor Ryabenky.

According to Konstantin Fokin, the director general of Moscow Innovation Development Center, the launch of API Moscow is the first step of city program of technologies incubation. Moscow has already spent dozens of millions rubles at this program, and is ready to spend hundreds of millions for the purpose of establishing some hundreds of innovation companies. The city plans to return investments by taxes.

City funds go to offices, its rental payment, and payment for utility services – the companies will not pay for it themselves. Besides, the organizers of the field have prepared for Startups a serious educational program. Investors are obliged to invest in these companies not less than city authorities – both money and time. Investors decide which projects are worth to be populated in the incubator, Innovation Development Center does not take part in taking such decisions.

Startups are populated in API Moscow for a period of half a year, then other projects of the same accredited partners will come. Similar incubators are planned to be launched by the Government of Moscow in other regions, first of all in strong technical Institutes.
