Tatarstan IT-Park is looking for ideas worthy of Silicon Valley

Startup project Sabantuy, organized by Kazan IT-Park, comes to its final stages. The project aimed at ideas worthy of Silicon Valley. IT-park’s experts visited 13 cities of Volga Federal District to conduct special selections for this purpose.

Presentations of projects took place in 13 cities: Izhevsk, Yoshkar-Ola, Cheboksary, Nizhni Novgorod, Saransk, Penza, Samara, Ulyanovsk, Kirov, Perm, Ufa, Orenburg and Saratov. More than 2,000 participants from all cities took part in StartUp-Sabantuy! expedition. IT-Park experts and colleagues from Runa Capital venture fund met more than 130 IT-projects.

There was a lot of mobile applications, many tech startups that we met in almost every town, a lot of interesting Internet services that automate some routine operations - the head of Chelny IT-park Ramil Ibragimov shared his impressions.

Sabantuy Startup! expedition is over, and now 13 finalists - Startup Batyrs - from 13 cities in Volga region are waiting for the launch of Startup- camp and final DemoDay.

Startup-camp will take place from 15th to 19th of July, 2012 in Naberezhnyye Chelny. It is an intensive training program for beginning IT-entrepreneurs in partnership with the Federal Agency on Youth Affairs, Executive Committee of the municipality of Naberezhnyye Chelny and Runa Capital investment fund. Startup-camp will end with the selection of 10 projects that will receive small grants of 100 K RUR as a prize for excellent work, and the culmination will be the presentation of projects to investors – DemoDay, the 20th of July at Kazan IT-park, which will be visited not only by investors from Russia, but from all over the world!

Stern test, intensive training, sophisticated investors will not leave a chance to unsound ideas.
